I get it. It’s a blog. You’re supposed to write things. 

Things have been moving along pretty well on the project. Last week we had one of John’s trainer’s up from Texas. He worked John extremely hard and I think reality set in as far as what we are really doing.  I’ll post some photo’s.

Since the last post, John has dropped from about 230 pounds to 205 pounds. He’ll be fighting at 185lbs. His Jujutsu Instructor, Adam Guerra, wants him his first fight to be in Monterey, Mexico. We were thinking of staying closer to home here in the Northeast, but we are considering.  The fight date is not set yet, but it should be sometime in November.

Tonight was the first night of filming for the new project. The footage we filmed consisted of Mike interviewing John regarding his game plan and goals. Mike has a pretty good style for interviewing and that should come out on any footage we are able to use from tonight. Joe was handling the steady cam like a pro (Oh wait, he is a pro).  We are off and running!

This week marks the beginning of our new production company – Square Dot Films.  A tremendous amount of thought went into the name. It pretty much consisted of 4 guys sitting around in a small office calling out names until we found something that we liked, or in this case, made us all say “huh?”. I think it was Mike that actually threw Square Dot out there and it stuck.

So this is the beginning of the journey for Mike, Joe, John, and myself (Shawn).  The next 18 months should be very interesting. More details to follow……
